  4. Hello, I just got off of craigslist where I was greeted by a full page “scam alert” warning of scams related to Affiliate Marketing. Much of what they are calling “scams” are our legitimate business practices. Can you tell me if your group has done anything to address this problem and what I as an individual can do to combat this misinformation?

I’m not sure if the PMA is aware or not. They are so tied up and busy with all the tax issues these days that I know that has to be their main priority right now.

One thing Ross should be aware of though is that affiliate links are not allowed on Craigslist, so if he’s using Craig’s as a marketing avenue, that’s a problem.

Instead of worrying about collecting taxes from Amazon and other companies, why don’t they worry about collecting taxes from the people that live in N.C. that don’t pay their taxes and some of them might be our politicians. Why don’t they start taxing the checks for people on welfare and medicaid that have never paid any taxes? If N.C. needs money why don’t the politicians forego their raises they give themselves and pay for they own gas that taxpayers pay and that would amount to a good bit of taxpayer money saved.

  7. I think we’re going to try Turbo Tax this year. Last year, I claimed the Homebuyer Tax Credit so I dropped $350 on a CPA. I am willing to pay for an expert but that was just too much. The time and energy it takes to find a reputable CPA at a reasonable price is not worth it to me this year.
